The Michiana Scrappers 12U Creakbaum Softball Team is searching for 1 more players to complete its 2015 roster. Any girl that is going to be league age 12U for the 2015 season (must be 12U on December 31st). Individuals interested, must be able to Pitch.

Nathan Mullen and Jake Shreiner, of the Michiana Scrappers 14U Orange team, have been selected by Game Day USA and coaches to participate in the 2014 Game Day USA New Year's Eve Baseball Classic.
The boys were selected based on their performance at the Game Day USA All Star Event in Indianapolis, IN (another selected event). Jake hit over .700 during the weekend long event.
"This is a tremendous honor for Nathan, Jake and all their families, as well as the entire Michiana Scrappers Organization, notes Director of Player Operations Brian Blondell. This is just another example of what our program can do for players and the commitment these guys have put forth to give themselves this opportunity. As an organization we are very proud of their efforts, but more importantly how they represent their family and themselves."

Congratulations goes out to Ryne Buckley, of the 11U Michiana Scrappers, as he was recently selected to participate in the Game Day USA Disney New Year Eve's Classic.
This recognition comes after Ryne was selected for an All-Star event and participated up in Wisconsin the first weekend of August. Only the top players from all of the All-Star events are selected for this great honor.
The Michiana Scrappers will begin its 10th year of competitive travel baseball and its 2nd year of travel softball. The Scrappers Organization is built on a solid foundation of developing the players to be competitors both on and off the field. Our organization sets standards to instill the desire to work hard, committment to details, being leaders on and off the field and the drive to be successful. If you would like to be apart of the "Scrapper Tradition" then your chance is NOW!
The Michiana Scrappers have completed about 95% of their teams after the tryout dates. We do still have a few openings and are still looking for some HIGH QUALITY Players and individuals to fill these roster spots. The Michiana Bandits 16U team led by Mike Young, a former 4 year starter at the United States Military Academy (West Point), have decided to join forces with the Michiana Scrappers Organization.
The Bandits which begain in 2008 with one team, expanded to four teams during the 2013 season. "Coach Young and his staff has done a fantastic job of building the foundation for development and work ethic for each of the Bandit players and we are excited that they have decided to join forces with the Scrappers for the 2014 season and beyond, notes Director of Player Operations Brian Blondell. Our goal will be to take the foundation built and expand on it as these players get ready for the college recruiting cycle."
Congratulations goes out to former Michiana Scrapper, Jordan Peterson, from Chesterton High School on being named the 2013 The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Pitcher of the Year.
Peterson, a sophomore RHP, for Division 2 Saint Joseph College, currently sits with an 8-1 record and 1 save in 12 appearances with a 1.67 ERA in 86 Innings Pitched. Jordan was a 3 year member of the Michiana Scrappers organization under Coach Blondell before heading to play for Coach Rick O'Dette and the Pumas.
The Michiana Scrappers would like to congratulate Jordan on his efforts and wish him the best of luck as the Pumas head into tournament play. For more information on this story, click on the picture above.
The Michiana Clippers College Exposure Team, comprised of 17U & 18U players have joined forces with the Michiana Scrappers for the 2013 season. The Clippers began in 2007 and have comprised a record of 294-57-2, while playing some of the best competition in the country on a year in and year out basis. "We are very excited to have the Michiana Clippers team aboard, notes Director of Baseball Operations, Brian Blondell. What Coach Todd Marazita and his staff have done with this group of young men has been fantastic. With our continued focus on the college level and commitment to raising the awarness to college coaches this opportunity only strengthens those relationships."

LaVille’s Ryan Bettcher signed a national letter of intent to play college baseball with The University of Cincinnati Bearcats. Ryan, the son of Rod and Michelle Bettcher, will earn a total of four letters playing baseball at LaVille. On the baseball diamond, Ryan has earned All-NSC honors for the past three seasons (Honorable mention as a freshman and 1st team honors as a sophomore and junior as a left handed pitcher / outfielder). His career batting average currently rests at .473 heading into his senior season.

Conner Hudnall, a South Bend Clay graduate and fromer Michiana Scrapper, is off to a good start for the Purdue Boilermakers.
Hudnall currently is hitting .250 in 19 games and is either 1st or 2nd in several offensive categories; doubles (6) 2nd on team; HR (1) 1st on team and RBI's (12) 1st on team.
The Boilermakers will begin Big Ten Conference play this coming week.
